About Black Cat Solutions

Black Cat Solutions are based in the East Midlands, not far from Derby, and specialise in supporting local small businesses and non profit organisations.

Black Cat Solutions is owned and run by Kathryn Blackwell. Kathryn has spent most of her career working in various sectors of IT. She prides herself on being able to convey technical subjects to non-technical people.

Having qualified with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics from Durham University, Kathryn first trained in Data Communications and Networking at British Gyspum before moving on to join ComputerLand UK to be part of a team of Remote Server Support Engineers.

Having learnt how to develop websites as a hobby, Kathryn decided to change roles at ComputerLand and joined the Internal IT team as their E-Commerce Developer, where she stayed for 3 years, developing, integrating and supporting database and web systems.

In 2003 Kathryn joined Capital One as a Data Analyst. This varied role took her through the world of Customer Management, Analyst Support and Report and Data Management. After more than 5 years with Capital One, Kathryn decided to leave and set up Black Cat Solutions in 2009.
